Tips & Tricks for Yummy Smoothies

  • Always mix the veggies and liquid well before adding fruit and remaining ingredients.

  • If using chia-seeds add them to the liquid first.

  • Add ice last and mix until frothy.

  • Smoothies taste much better if all ingredients are very cold.

  • When bananas begin to turn brown, peel and freeze for use in smoothies.

  • Frozen organic fruits and veggies work great and are usually less expensive.

  • Lemon and apples are great additions to green smoothies and balance the veggie flavor.

  • Honey, maple syrup, dates and stevia are all good sugar substitutes.

  • Use any organic milk of your choice.

  • Yogurt, coconut oil, avocado and cashews make your smoothie extra creamy.

  • Walnuts, chia-seeds and ground flax-seeds are rich in omega 3’s and protein and fiber. They are rich in essential fatty acids that are good for your heart, as well as lots of vitamin e.

  • Cacao powder or nibs are both rich in minerals like calcium, iron and magnesium. They are energizing, mood enhancing and full of antioxidants and contain very little caffeine.

  • Gogi berries are full of protein, carbs and healthy fat. They are rich in over 20 vitamins and minerals. They are good for your eyesight and immune system.

  • Maca is a root plant from Peru that has been ground into a powder. It is a true energy food and help to balance stress. It is rich in iron, vitamins, amino a ids, magnesium, calcium and potassium.

  • Leafy greens are rich in iron, calcium and full of vitamins. Add them to all of your smoothies. Spinach and frozen broccoli have very little flavor so you won’t even know they are there!!

Strawberries & Cream Protein Smoothie

1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk

½ frozen banana

4 frozen strawberries

1 scoop Vanilla Complete Protein Powder

1 cup baby spinach or kale

1 cup ice

Mix in a high-speed blender and enjoy!!!




Chocolate Chip Cookie Protein Smoothie

2 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk

1 cup baby spinach or kale

1 scoop Chocolate Complete Protein Powder

1 tablespoon cacao

1 teaspoon vanilla extract or mint if you want to make mint chocolate chip!

1 cup ice or coconut ice

Optional additions:

2 medjool dates, pitted

1 teaspoon coconut oil

1/4 cup raw pecans

2 tablespoon cacao nibs

1 tablespoon maca or lucuma powder



Mix in a high-speed blender and enjoy!!!
