A Daily Routine Matters

A Daily Routine

Having a daily routine is a powerful way to build healthy habits and to create the life you want. Staying true to your routine is the best way to maintain balance, joy and productivity in your life.

I recommend taking a few minutes now and writing down what you spend most of your time on in a day. Write it all!!! - scrolling social media, channel surfing, walking, work, cooking, shopping, etc…… Then on a second sheet of paper write down all of the things you want to do in a day. Think about what you want your life to look like in a year or two, and what you would need to work on to get there. Then compare the two lists and cross out the items from the first list that are not in alignment with your goals and desires and that are not serving you. From there you can make an action plan to get where you want to be. I would love to work with you and help you to reach your health goals so that you have the focus and energy to accomplish all of your dreams.

Below are a few tips that will help to harmonize your body’s rhythms with nature’s rhythms.

  • Wake up with the sun - at approximately the same time every day.

  • Try oil pulling to help detoxify your mouth and body.

  • Drink your warm lemon water and feel free to add ginger or cayenne if you like. Try drinking a minimum of f16 ounces before anything else.

  • Spend anywhere from 5-20 minutes on morning pages. Just write! Don’t think too much about what you are writing. Jot down everything that comes into your head. You will be amazed at how powerful this simple practice is for bringing added clarity to your day.

  • Meditate or practice yoga

  • Walk, run or just get outside and mow the lawn. Breath and take in the beauty around you. Think about all of the things you have to be grateful for.

  • I recommend a green smoothie for breakfast most days. Sometimes you just need some avocado toast or oats but beginning the day with a green juice or smoothie will provide you with so many nutrients and will get your whole day of eating off on the right start.

  • Before your shower use a natural bristle brush to dry brush your body remembering to always go toward your heart.

  • Work - regardless if you work in the house or at an office try to do the hardest thing on your list for the day first. That way you will feel accomplished and won’t have to think negative or stressful thoughts about the task.

  • Try to eat leafy greens at every meal. A handful of spinach or kale in your smoothie, as salad for lunch and dinner and as many other vegetables as possible. Root veggies are especially important this time of year for strengthening and helping you to feel grounded.

  • If you work at a desk, take a break once an hour to walk around, stretch and take in some fresh air if possible.

  • Enjoy time with friends and family.

  • Cook your dinner with gratitude for the abundance of nutrition and pleasure that nature provides. Listen to music, chop and create a delicious healthy meal with lots of added love.

  • Try to eat dinner a minimum of 3 hours before going to bed.

  • Turn off all electronic a couple of hours before going to bed.

  • Take a warm bath with epsom salts and lavender to detoxify and relax your body. Having a relaxing night time regimen will help you to get the best rest.
